Interfaces Developer
Job Summary:
The Interfaces Developer is responsible for professional services or product development work related to the development and maintenance of interfaces and gateways. This includes the evaluation, design and development of new interface solutions and the enhancement and maintenance of existing interfaces. Such interfaces will normally operate between Fincentric core banking products and partner products, accommodating the architecture and standards of multiple products. This is a technically challenging role requiring an advanced knowledge of multiple technologies, standards and methods.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following::
- Perform assessments, provide work estimates and defines functional requirements of a prospective client’s business system, using Fincentric’s best practices template
- Write code and develop interfaces following detailed specifications
- Provide technical documentation to various groups including operations, documentation and training
- Perform unit testing, troubleshooting and debugging of Wealthview Banking interfaces
- Perform Code Reviews ensuring code conforms to architectural standards
- Improving the performance of the application
- Assist Product Management, CS and Sales to develop Prototypes of certain interfaces during the analysis and design process
- Provide support during phases such as gateway certification, user acceptance testing and post go live support
- Other projects, assignments, responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Possess the ability to see a project’s overall vision and ensure schedules are adhered to
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the environment and\or strategies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of a current system design and development method such as RUP and Microsoft Solutions Framework is an asset.
Credentials & Experience:
- Three or more years Probe and\or Developer’s Kit programming experience
- Three or more years development experience with an object-oriented programming language preferably in a client\server environment
- At least eight years of relevant experience
- Experience in a retail or commercial banking environment is desirable
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related subject is recommended, though candidates with equivalent work experience will be considered.
- A premier Microsoft Certification (MCSD, MCDBA) would be an asset.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Customers
- Understand code management and compilation processes
- Experience with communication protocols is preferred
- Some domestic and International travel may be required.
