Microsoft, Unisys, Fincentric Demonstrate High-End Performance
Benchmark tests prove Fincentric’s Wealthview
Banking offers financial institutions a scalable, easily managed
and reliable enterprise-wide banking solution
Vancouver, BC, April 24, 2003 –
Fincentric Corporation has collaborated with Microsoft and Unisys
to successfully demonstrate scalability of Fincentric's Wealthview
Banking™ on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Data center Edition
and Unisys ES7000 32-way server. The benchmark results confirm that
Wealthview Banking efficiently handles real-time, large volume,
on-line transaction processing (OLTP) transactions that are essential
in mission-critical banking systems—previously only addressed
by large mainframes.
"Financial institutions require banking systems
that can handle large volumes of customer transactions while maintaining
performance and data integrity," said Chris Hall, Fincentric's
Vice President of Product Development. "In combination with
Microsoft's Windows Server 2003 and Unisys ES7000, Fincentric’s
Wealthview Banking is able to provide financial institutions the
highest degrees of scalability, flexibility, and reliability—meeting
the needs of growing financial institutions."
The benchmark tests conducted in January 2003 at the Microsoft
Performance Analysis Research Center (Parc) Lab in Redmond, WA,
achieved 1100 banking transactions-per-second (TPS)—a six-fold
performance improvement over the Fincentric benchmark exercise conducted
in 2000 on 8-way servers. The tests replicated complex banking transactions
for 2.5 million customers, over 10 million products and 3 months
history, including deposits and withdrawals, loan and time deposit
creation and management. With 1100 TPS, Wealthview Banking can maintain
sub-second response time from 10,000 simultaneous users with a continuous
onslaught of incoming requests arriving from every workstation every
9 seconds.
"Fincentric, a leading global provider of core banking and
wealth management software and a long-term Microsoft industry partner
since 1986, has been developing OLTP banking applications exclusively
on the Microsoft platform," said Bob Ellsworth, Director, Windows
Server Business Group, Microsoft Corporation. "These test results
prove that Fincentric’s Wealthview Banking is capable of meeting
the mission-critical business needs of small to large banks worldwide."
"These results demonstrate the incredible performance characteristics
of the Unisys ES7000, a server capable of scaling and consolidating
multiple Wealthview Banking applications," said Pete Samson,
Vice President and General Manager, Unisys Enterprise Server Market
Development. "The Fincentric benchmark represents further compelling
evidence that Unisys, Microsoft and our solution partners offer
significantly better price-performance than UNIX-based servers,
along with Unisys high availability and first class support. Mission
critical computing no longer means high operational costs."
Fincentric's Wealthview Banking is the only Microsoft
Data center and Advanced Server certified financial solution available
today, having undergone rigorous independent testing at the Veritest
labs to achieve Data center certification in 2002. A copy of the
report is available on the Veritest site at http://cert.veritest.com/CfWreports/server/.
